About Us

Richards Restaurants, a beloved establishment with roots dating back to 1967, was founded by Don Strong in Bluffton, Indiana. It all began with the Snug diner and Embers Restaurant in Portland, setting the stage for Richards' growth into a network of five company-owned restaurants and one franchise across Northeastern Indiana. Our Bearcreek Country Event Center, commissary, and bakery contribute to our success, ensuring consistent quality through exclusive recipes and premium ingredients. For over 40 years, our mission has been to deliver good food at reasonable prices with a warm and friendly touch. As we enter the third generation of the Strong family leadership, we remain dedicated to serving our communities with our basic, down-home goodness. It's our pleasure to keep "Serving hot food hot and cold food cold," delighting families and friends spanning generations.

I had the chicken noodles over the mashed potatoes and it was so good. My husband had the Manhattan dish coffee was wonderful and the waitresses constantly came back to ask for if we wanted refills if we needed anything. They have such a great sense of humor love it.
